Mark Grabowski is a professor at Adelphi University on Long Island, where he teaches tech-focused communication courses such as internet law, digital ethics, blockchain and web journalism. He has twice been a finalist for Adelphi’s Professor of the Year award.
His classes explore the legal, policy and ethical issues raised by the internet’s central role in communication, commerce and social life.
A former newspaper reporter and columnist, Mark also has a deep background in journalism. He has taught newswriting, media relations, and media law & ethics — and you can view his students’ work here. In 2016, he led a group of journalism students to Cuba to report on the country’s rapid changes. He also teaches in the Dow Jones News Fund’s summer bootcamp at the University of Texas at Austin, helping prepare college and graduate students for journalism internships and careers.
Mark serves on the boards of the Institute on Political Journalism and the Journalism Education Association’s magazine. He regularly speaks around the world on topics related to digital media, law and emerging technology.
